Mark Hindley began his musical life as a Chorister at Lichfield Cathedral. It was here that he began to play the organ, progressing to Malvern College before being awarded an Organ Scholarship to Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, where he studied with David Sanger.

Mark was appointed Chorus Master for the Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) Philharmonic Choir for three years commencing with the 2012/3 season. This followed on from him working with the choir and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra for 3 concerts in the 2011/2 season including an acclaimed performance of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin with Matthew Halls. In addition to his work with symphonic choruses, since 2009, Mark has been Musical Director of the Cumbrian chamber choir, the Wordsworth Singers, with whom he has rapidly established a reputation for adventurous programming and exciting, vibrant performances. He was also appointed Musical Director of the Scottish Chamber Choir commencing at the beginning of the 2013/4 season.
Mark is in demand to work with choirs and train voices all over the UK and recently has been at the forefront of community singing events at the new Horsecross Concert Hall in Perth. He has also worked extensively in higher education.
He combines his choral work with a busy schedule as a freelance organist and harpsichordist. He has been invited to perform in many major venues across the UK. He has also appeared in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Poland and the USA.
